SF's Slide Desperate For Coders

slide.png
"A lot of companies are trying to hire," said founder and CEO Max Levchin, who co-founded PayPal before selling it to Ebay for $1.5 billion in 2002. VCs are pouring cash into a new wave of web startups. "Add to that the non-stop vacuuming of Valley talent by Google. ... If you're not willing to lower standards, you're looking at a long time between hiring cycles."

Slide has raised $20M from Mayfield Fund, Khosla Ventures and others over three rounds and is looking to grow headcount from 46 to 75 pronto but is having trouble recruiting and training.

On the churn side, Slide has some HR horrors:
One caller pretended to be a Slide VC planning a special event, asked for all of the engineers' names. Another mailed a biz plan to some engineers. Slide's HR department reports that every candidate is getting 3-4 offers. To fill the ranks, the company is hiring newbies from Mexico.

slide grab2.png

Slide is currently looking to fill these jobs:
* Flash Developer
* Server Coder
* Senior Web Developer
* MySQL Database Architect
* Web QA Engineer
* Desktop QA Engineer
* Systems/Network Architect
* Director, Human Resources
* Director (or VP), Business Development
* Product Manager (Web)
