Lead Engineer/team For Pre-name, VC-Backed Health Portal in Palo Alto

dcm.png
DCM has invested in a stealth mode health portal based in Palo Alto that was founded by Steve Fram, who was VP, Engineering at BabyCenter. Fram is leading hiring for his tech team at this point starting with a lead engineer.

All they are saying right now is that the venture is going to be even bigger than BabyCenter. They have yet to get cracking on V 1.0 and are just getting their office space (by the PA train station), hiring people and thinking of a good name to call it.

Be BizDev VP For Palo Alto's Accel-backed MyThings

MyThingsComingSoon_01.gif
"MyThings currently has offices in London, Tel Aviv and recently set up headquarters here in the Bay Area. We received funding from Accel Partners, and we have built an A-list management team. This position will be filled by a senior executive with strong B2B2C experience."

A start-up trend are sites that let you tell the world what you own. SFGate recently did a profile piece on this naming sites like, well, Like.com., SeenON, and Zebo. MyThings is the B2C extension of Swift-Find, a real-time registry of valuables, used to identify whether goods are reported lost, stolen or looted. Our sister site at the a:c profiled this company. The Swift-Find database is used today by auction houses, art dealers, law enforcement, insurance companies, retailers, and owners of valuable goods. With MyThings.com, Swift-Find is now moving into the consumer market, to allow people to create an online portfolio of their valuables.

The funny thing is that in their job description they call themselves both Fatdoor and Fatdog, neither of which has a web site, so who knows?

$150K Salery For CFO @ AdultFriendfinder

FriendFinder is not the company that you want to take home and introduce to your mom, but it does mint money and can't stop hiring people. Still, $150K plus bonus for a CFO in Palo Alto at a scuzzy company seems awfully low-ball. We did expect to see some hints that the company might at least anticipate an IPO, but that does not seem to be the case.
