Activision-Owned Game Studio in Santa Monica Treyarch Needs Exec Producer

Treyarch has released over 20 titles, including Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, and most recently Call of Duty 3. The next game to release from Treyarch will be the next generation versions of Spider-Man 3 for the Sony Playstation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360.

They need to hire an exec producer but don't give much info on what they are looking for.

New Orleans' Turbo Squid Seeks CFO and VP

Turbo Squid sells 3D Models and 3D Application plug-ins via its web site, and has recently entered the computer game industry with its new division, GameFlood.com. The New Orleans-based company is venture backed (two rounds), 6 years old, and currently staffed with 30 employees. It claims over $5M in sales this year.

Turbo Squid is spending it 2nd funding round now by expanding its management team and brining on a CFO and VP.

Code For Seattle's Geochaching Game Engine Groundspeak

Seattle's Groundspeak needs a Senior C/C++ Developer for its GPS game engine. We are familar with geochaching but didn't know about Groundspeak. Groundspeak was started in 2000 to manage Geocaching.com, the global headquarters for the "sport" of geocaching. Geocaching was the first activity to combine Global Positioning System technology and the Internet for real-world treasure hunting.

NYC-based casual games maker GameTrust needs to fill a few seats, most notably a VP of Consumer Marketing role. The start-up is backed by DFJ. GameTrust's face-man is Adeo Ressi who had launched Total New York, which was sold to AOL and Tribune Media, becoming AOL Digital Cities. He also launched an iBuilder that he sold in 2000 for $80M+.

The company raised $5.5M in a Series A financing. The financing, which it says was oversubscribed by $2.5M, was co-lead by Silicon Alley Venture Partners and Topspin Partners. Other investors include CSK Ventures and, Intel Capital along with angels that include Elon Musk, co- founder of Paypal and Zip2, and Tim Draper of Draper Fisher Jurvetson. Tri-State PIN and NYNMA angels also participated.

WagerWorks' online games, include multi-line, multi-coin slots machines, traditional table games, fixed odds propositions, and a multi-player poker network, including iDTV and mobile phone solutions. Importantly, the company has a regulatory compliance.

WagerWorks is owned by International Game Technology (IGT), the world's largest slot manufacturer. So it should be a stable company. Even better than stock options WagerWorks offers profit sharing.

Mobile Game Programmer Wanted Behind The Orange Curtain

javaground_logoBig.gif Mobile Games are hot right now. JavaGround is definitely a smaller player, but it does have corporate VC funding from the Swiss giant Esmertec.

JavaGround also is a java mobile games tools maker, rather than a games maker. The company has a European pedigree, having been founded in Belgium. It moved to So Cal in 2004.

The start-up is looking for at least one programmer at its offices in Dana Point.
