VP BD/Sponsorships at Tapatap In San mateo

San Mateo's Taptatap is looking to hire a BD VP in its San Mateo office. The startup has raised $2.5M in Series A funding from Gabriel Venture Partners, says PEWire. The company has yet to launch but says it will compete in the mobile social networking arena and will be "Your Contest Community" offering infinite contests for fun and prizes."

The company was co-founded by 3 top Infospace execs, led by CEO Isaac Babbs who was GM/VP Mobile Games at Infospace Mobile. This sounds very much like new launches that we have been covering including Kyte.tv and Zannel.

Position Summary

The VP of Business Development/Contest Sponsorships is a business development/sales executive who will lead and manage all aspects of Tapatap partnership and revenue relationships including: finding and landing our initial contest partnerships, closing traffic partnerships, technology partnerships, and wireless carrier partnerships. You will be the first business development/revenue executive at our company. Your job is to do lots of deals very quickly!!!!

Responsibilities:
• Create and close contest sponsorship deals with youth focused consumer brands, consumer product companies, media companies, and web 2.0 companies.
• Create and close traffic relationship deals with media companies, web 2.0 companies, and mobile companies.
• Create and close strategic business development deals.
• Drive revenue by finding and signing the best partner for selling and serving ad for mobile and web text and display inventory
• Create the company’s business development plan
• Manage all aspects of the company’s inbound and outbound revenue and business development deals.
• Manage and grow the company revenue and external relationships
• Be the key executive in the company around revenue and growing revenue
• Be a key member of the executive team and will participate in all executive level meetings and board meetings on a regular basis

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred.
• 4+ years of Director of Business Development or sales experience in a consumer online company, media company, or web advertising sales company
• 2+ years experience at high-traffic, consumer facing mobile or online, brand-name company
• A great DEAL CLOSER
• A love of meeting, seeing, and constantly networking with potential partners and peers
• A great rolodex of existing relationships in LA/Hollywood media companies, NY media companies, Bay Area web 2.0 companies, mobile companies, and youth focused product companies
• Strong experience in mobile and web 2.0 space
• Mobile content entertainment sales and business development experience a plus.
• Video game business development and revenue experience a plus
• Ability to target and understand the 16-35 demographic----you need to like and love this demographic
• Successful track record building consumer internet traffic or mobile web traffic through business development deals
• Smart, creative, dynamic, and high energy person
• Past experience building a bd/revenue team and all aspects of the department from only you from the ground up
• Excellent PowerPoint/Excel/Word skills.
• Excellent technical skills with computers and phones.
• Ability to multitask and deliver on aggressive timelines.
• Results-oriented with demonstrated leadership skills
• Critical thinker with a bias towards action
• Variety of media experience primarily in the mobile and online entertainment environments
• Expertise in analyzing data, trends, events
• Proven ability and flexibility to steer in a market that is changing constantly and rapidly
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and projects
• Good sense of humor, positive attitude, and proven dedication
• Enjoy working in small teams at small companies where you personally build something from nothing very fast
