An IDG India partner has put out an all points bulletin in search of a CEO to run his managed security services startup. It looks like the company has been conceived at IDG and has not yet been launched yet. Managed security has been a great growth business and it makes sense to operate such a high head count business in India. The startup's office are in Bangalore.

1. Company Vision
Build leadership position in a global service niche play for managed security services.
2. Company Goal
Achieve revenue of US$ 100 million in 6 years.
Partner with industry leaders in identified verticals.
Build eco-system for innovators, application developers, and developer community and solution providers.
3. Role & Responsibilities of the CEO
CEO will achieve revenue of US$ 100 million in 6 years with a PAT of 20% CEO will define & drive the Strategy (Business & Functional) and organizational growth to attain a goal of $100million revenue base within 6 years timeframe with a superior profitability.
CEO will be accountable & responsible for the P&L of the New Co. CEO will lead the New Co. business during the start-up & rapid growth phases and in the process establish a full-fledged firm with hi-performance teams & organizational mechanisms for business acquisition, delivery & other support functions.
The incumbent will interact extensively with the board in ascertaining and in many ways evolving the business plans. He or she will intensely contribute on assessing the market opportunities, identifying pockets of immediate synergies with revenue potential and areas for mid-term to long-term growth. CEO would evolve a 5-year business agenda split quarter wise on the revenue projections, operating costs, cash flows, investment-outlays and other parameters. The CEO would take on the ownership of the business plans, internalize it sufficiently with the team and strive to deliver the plans.
Profile of the Ideal candidate:

Clearly a top end software executive who is well groomed to operate as a senior management executive to impact customer acquisition & set up internal process & systems to deliver on this challenge.
Should have a customer acquisition experience at CEO,CTO,CIO level globally Has a Business Acumen skill. Has solid leadership presence. Should have held minimum of 10 years of P&L ownership
Has built relationship with CEO/CIO of Large MNCs / Fortune 500 companies. Should have global exposure & build global businesses
Has been part of the success story of home grown Indian companies in global consulting, services & Products space, the first domain as we envision would be candidate from one of top tier Indian software companies, who has essentially operated at the leadership level.
An engineer-MBA from a reputed institute would be the education background.
5. Desirable
Rolodex of customer contacts & track record of long-term client relationships with sales book in excess of US$ 50mil. Exposure to Network Security space.
Should have high levels of Commitment and motivation towards the vision and goal Should have high perseverance and Humility A high degree of entrepreneurial spirit coupled with a good track record as a leader. High Stature individual with global mindset having worked or exposed to people & challenges, which are complex & global in outlook. With his experience & personality he should lead the organization & people, wherein alignment to him is only natural.
