BD VP for NYC-based Sharedbook
We wrote about SharedBook back in April when we learned that its founder had invested in this custom book publisher.
SharedBook has received $15M in private funding to date from a single investor group led by Yossie Hollander.
Prior to SharedBook, Mr. Hollander founded New Dimension Software, where he was chairman and CEO, and took it public in 1992. The company was sold to BMC Software in 1999 for $650M. In 1990, he founded Jacada [NASDAQ: JCDA], another enterprise software firm, and is currently serving as its chairman. Competitors include Blurb and QOOP.

SharedBook Inc., a New York City based software and publishing company, seeks a self-directed VP, business development to introduce SharedBook’s patent pending Reverse Publishing platform to organizations and brands. The ideal candidate should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical skills, and a goal-oriented, strategic approach to sales. A strong record of success in selling either a SaaS platform or measurable marketing solutions is required. Must have 5-7 years experience in leading a successful, small team of business development managers. This individual is an integral part of the management team that sets the strategic direction for the company, and must be well versed in competitive offerings and Internet tools and trends. Reports to CEO.
Responsibilities include:
• PROSPECT and EVALUATE new client opportunities and potential
• DEVELOP and DELIVER written and verbal proposals and presentations
• MAINTAIN EXPERTISE in key verticals and competitive markets
• MANAGE a small team of business development professionals and manage across functional teams to insure delivery to clients
• TRAVEL as needed
Requirements:
• BA/BS
• 10+ years previous sales or business development experience
• Experience in working with C-Level Executives on multi-department initiatives
• Understanding of basic principals of online metrics
• Working knowledge of PCs, and common office software applications
• Experience in the travel, sports, entertainment or media industry a plus
