Founded in 2004 and backed by top-tier investors, Digg is currently in the top 20 most visited sites in the US and the top 100 in the world according to Alexa traffic rankings. We are currently recruiting a world class Director of Marketing to drive Digg’s marketing efforts. this leadership position requires an individual capable of building world class marketing programs that deliver measurable results, as well as building and managing a high performance team.

The ideal candidate must be extremely proactive, flexible and have a strong consumer marketing background. S/he should have a personal passion for web technologies, work effectively within a team environment and be comfortable working in a highly self-directed manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Create innovative programs to drive user growth and retention
• Develop brand plan including long-range marketing strategy, consumer segmentation model, product positioning, and key tactics to achieve company objectives
• Manage PR and event activities which includes taking the lead on PR strategy and managing Digg’s PR resources
• Manage and grow Digg’s community team
• Own Digg’s ongoing external communications development including website copy, collateral, and corporate presentations
• Manage all consumer and market research activities, including focus groups, surveys, and secondary research to help define product strategy
• Develop and manage a marketing budget
• Analyze competitive products and incorporate strategies to stay ahead of competition

QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 10 years experience in consumer marketing, preferably in the online media industry in an executive capacity
• MBA in Marketing or equivalent a strong plus
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute marketing strategies, with measurable results
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Demonstrated management skills with a track record of building high performance internal and external teams
• Strong work ethic with flexibility to take on new responsibilities as priorities change
• Comfortable in shifting quickly between strategic and tactical modes of work
• Strong use of analytics and business cases to drive decisions
