COO/Managing Director For Huge London Social Network Passado
In December, Passado.com, a Myspace and Bebo-type online social network, raised €10M to expand into UK, Russia and Italy. The new investor is US-based Tudor Ventures, joined by earlier investor DFJ ePlanet.
The Passado business plan has been making the rounds in the VC market for a while we hear. It was initially a kind of Classmates.com or Friends Reunited type site in Germany, but it is now British-owned and offering blogs and other applications. It claims 5M registered users.

Short Job Description
Liaising and working closely with the board of directors and investors, to provide strategic direction of the Passado business model
Key accountabilities of the role
• Operational management of the Passado business in all territories
• Full Profit & Loss responsibility including financial planning
• Management of the company’s costs and cash resources
• Review the existing staff team. Define an organisation to achieve the company’s objectives and hire appropriate candidates
• Assisting CTO in Managing out-sourced development company
• Strategic development of the Passado business model
• Responsibility for successful implementation of the model
• Lead business development activity
• Manage the company’s marketing activity in particular PR and act as a spokesperson with the press
• Review and renegotiation of existing partnerships and major supplier contracts with a reasonable understanding of contractual law.
Pre-requisite Knowledge, skills and experience
Required business knowledge/experience:
• Experience and success in managing an internet business or a standalone internet project within an organisation
• European experience
• Previous P&L responsibility with a sound understanding of accounting practices and budget modelling
• Strong organisational and people management skills
• Good communicator
• Business Development and marketing experience
Personal attributes / competencies:
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Self-starter. Comfortable taking initiative
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, startup environment
