COO For Massive, VC-backed Teen Social Network In SF
A head-hunter is looking to fill a COO position for an un-named teen social net. He says his client is the 2nd largest teen site worldwide with over 25M registered users and over 12 million unique monthly page views. With this traction, the company has the same user base as Facebook did only one year ago. We think this is Friendster, which as VentureBeat recently reported is going through a resurgence.
Apply to the recruiter here.
Backed by top tier venture capital, our client gives teens around the world the freedom and tools to express themselves in a safe social networking environment. They provide teens with a personal site which they can customize without HTML or the rigid structure of many other social networking sites. With their strong international presence, our client is poised to capture significant market share of the 80 million teens making up the “always connected” generation. This large market coupled with their explosive viral growth will push the company to profitability by the first quarter of 2008.

The COO will report to the CEO and serve as his right-hand person. They will oversee all aspects of the product including development, product management and product marketing. In addition to the product, the COO will also be responsible for member services, operations, and the data center. The CEO, by comparison, will manage sales, finance and business development.
