Lingo Semantics says it was formed to capitalize on five years of research, resulting in patent-pending technologies in the areas of linguistic analysis and search. Its flagship product, Lingospot, is a web service that automatically identifies important phrases within a web page, gathers relevant links and information from across the web and conveniently presents them in a floating bubble. They are looking for a VP of Sales and Business Development.

Position Summary
The VP of Sales and Business Development will lead the company's business development and sales efforts, primarily focusing on partnerships with online publishers and online advertising networks. As a pre-venture-funding company, Lingo will offer the VP an opportunity to substantially participate in the success of the company through a generous stock option grant.
Responsibilities
* Build, expand and manage a sales pipeline with online publishers
* Establish and nurture senior-level relationships with advertisers and online advertising networks
* Interface with technical team regarding product requirements
* Contribute to the growth and strategic direction of Lingo's products and services
* Communicate the company's sales and business development strategy to investor and partners
Desired Qualifications
* 5+ years of online or other high-tech business development and/or sales
* Substantial experience in business development, client relationships, consultative selling and deal negotiation s
* Ability to work independently and with little supervision
* Flexibility to accept a wide range of responsibilities & duties
* Willingness to wear multiple hats and to assume a broad range of responsibilities
* Previous startup experience is highly desirable
* Understanding of online advertising models highly desirable
* BA/BSc degree required, MBA degree preferred
