Adware is a tough business these days but WhenU has been more successful than others at innovating to elude the problems of the business. MeMedia is a well funded and fast growing company looking to capitalize on the enormous growth in online advertising and video distribution.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The SVP of Business Development will be responsible for developing new advertising revenues by building relationships and structuring contracts with advertising agencies, advertisers, and distribution partners. The SVP of Business Development will report into the CEO and will be responsible for setting revenue targets and building and managing a team of sales people and account managers.
The candidate must be experienced in the following areas:
• The ability to research, source, structure, negotiate, and close key sales and distribution deals in the online media and advertising market.
• Have senior level contacts at Advertising Agencies and Chief Marketing Officers and media buyers at Global 1000 companies
• Develop and manage sales tactics and strategies
• Build and manage a sales and distribution team
• Be very hands on and have sales/revenue targets of his/her own
The candidate must be able to analyze complex data, think strategically about the industry and product, and possess strong interpersonal and deal-making skills. Reporting to the CEO, this exceptional individual will be a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment and an excellent communicator who can represent the company in front of business partners.
QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate should have a minimum of 7+ years Internet sales, business development, or related experience. He/she must be an aggressive seller and strategic thinker with very strong quantitative/qualitative analytical skills, contract negotiation experience and exceptional interpersonal abilities. Sales experience and unlimited self-motivation are absolute requirements. A good professional network and experience in negotiating deals is a plus. A degree from a top university and/or a background with strategic consulting or investment banking is a plus.
