Wordlock was founded in 2002 in Los Altos by Todd Basche, who was VP at Apple where he launched iTunes and other important apps. With Wordlock, he has launched a padlock that uses words rather than number combinations. He has been selling very well at Staples and wants you to expand to other stores.

Job Description For VP of Worldwide Retail Sales, Wordlock, LLC
Summary
Dedicated and energetic Retail sales executive with a wide range of
professional experience in creating new markets and selling into major big box retailers.
Demonstrated success in creating long-term sales and profit growth through strategic and tactical implementation of corporate strategies on a channel-wide basis.
Proven ability to recruit, hire, develop, and retain a diverse team of sales professionals
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Sell Wordlock branded product family into all major big box retailers
• Develop and implement strategy for an outside sales rep organization specific to each products channels :
o Mass Market
o Sporting Goods
o Luggage and Travel
o ASI
• Create and maintain a product line forecast
• Direct responsibility for Key account management and retention
• Develop a team oriented sales organization.
• Create and maintain programs to ensure continued success with retail clients.
• Be capable of learning new product lines and selling and implementing those lines on an ongoing basis.
• Negotiate prices and contracts with customers and distributors
• Be available to travel as necessary
Experience Required
• Must have a proven track record of strategic selling into large consumer retail store chains.
• Experience expanding distribution with new product placement at key retail accounts
• Extensive experience in sales management, and marketing home/hardware consumer products to multiple classifications of retailers
• 10+ years of experience managing retail clients and implementing marketing/merchandising programs
• 5+ years of sales experience
• 4 year College Degree
Qualifications: The following are preferred or desired unless specifically stated:
• Existing Relationships with major chain retailers (i.e.,Walmart, Target, K Mart, Kohl’s), drug chains (i.e., CVS, Eckerd, Rite Aid, Walgreens), warehouse clubs (i.e., BJ's, Costco, Sam's),Department Stores (i.e., JC Penney, Sears, Federated, May Co., Dillards), specialty retail chains (i.e., Bed Bath and Beyond, Carlton Cards, Hallmark, Michaels, Spencer Gifts, Toys "R" Us), Sporting goods chains(Sports Authority, REI, Dicks, Big 5) and Airlines and Travel stores (HMS, the military (i.e., AAFES), and independent retailers.
• Proven ability to present to VP level executives, build trust with clients and close deals.
• Ability to negotiate multi-million dollar contracts
• In-depth experience managing installation and operations of in-store programs.
• Strong presentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, time management, and multi-tasking abilities.
• Excellent ability to prioritize and manage numerous projects on tight deadlines with limited direction.
• Ability to think strategically, formulate action plans, and sell them through to management.
