Supported by the full resources of the Company, the VP Marketing will head consumer marketing will be responsible for driving the development of the company’s brand and driving consumer interaction and revenues through Skoop’s consumer direct web properties. This person will be guiding a group of highly talented marketers to accomplish the business and marketing objectives and will be responsible for the team’s staffing, skill set optimization, project and resource prioritization and career growth. The perfect candidate is passionate about delivering well-designed products and innovative, creative marketing that drives strong business results.
Key Responsibilities
• Driving world brand creation and brand building for the Company
• Informing product and feature prioritization and design in line with the Company’s vision and based on this person’s consumer marketing expertise supported by research
• Managing the development and execution of world class marketing programs that meet or exceed awareness, trial, and usage and retention targets
Required Experience:
- We are looking for an entrepreneurial leader with deep experience in creating successful branded web properties in the direct to consumer search, community, e-commerce, security and/or not-for-profit sectors
- A minimum of 5 years of experience leading successful consumer direct web marketing operations
- In-depth knowledge of all key marketing functional areas including research, strategic positioning, partnership, brand management, demand generation, community marketing, and measurement
- Strong quantitative skills, able to evaluate and communicate financial impacts of potential product features
- Strong, experience-based views on strategies for successful consumer direct marketing
- Excellent track record of developing, launching, selling and marketing products that delight their users
Other Qualifications:
- Senior level team player, able to share responsibility for key decision making with the CEO while accepting responsibility to drive internal decision making process and results
- Executive level strategy, communication and presentation skills to work hand-in-hand with the CEO
- Independent thinking individual with a strong point of view and the willingness and ability to present convincingly
- Experience and comfort with smaller, entrepreneurial companies and/or on startup projects within larger companies
