CTO For Dallas' Gas Price Futures Startup Pricelock

Dallas-based Pricelock is looking for both a CTO and an SVP of Sales and Marketing. Pricelock is a pre-launch startup that seeks a CTO to build a consumer service that will allow people to buy gas today at the going rate - say $3.50 and get that price in two months whetehr or not the price has gone up or down. Pricelock plans to offer other commodities under this system in the future.
You would report to CEO Brian Reed who was Vice-President - Internet at Capital One Auto Finance.

The Company:
Pricelock is a Dallas, Texas based development stage company formed to research, test and commercialize Internet-delivered commodity price management solutions to communities of consumers and businesses. Our first offering will involve gasoline price management and price protection solutions. Through our Website Pricelock.com, which is currently under development, and through instant messaging and emails, we plan to provide our community of member customers with advanced tools and other services that will allow them to (i) evaluate current gasoline purchase options, (ii) assess future gasoline price trends, (iii) rapidly obtain flash news briefs on events that may impact gasoline prices, (iv) purchase gasoline price management and price protection solutions; (v) monitor and manage their “virtual price-protected gasoline reserves” on-line and real time and (vi) take physical delivery of gasoline using a proprietary Pricelock gasoline fuel purchase card and/or credit card accepted at retail locations nationwide. Future offerings are envisioned providing commodity pricing and management solutions for natural gas, home heating oil, electricity and other high volume commodity groups that experience significant price volatility.
The Position:
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a high impact position in a company where IT leadership is viewed as a strategic differentiator and is supported accordingly as a direct report to the CEO. The CTO will provide executive level strategic and tactical direction to the company in the areas of infrastructure and systems architecture, development and deployment of business applications, as well as the technology platform to integrate Pricelock’s many data and transaction partners. The CTO is also responsible for all aspects of information technology support, data and voice networks, software systems, server and networked personal computer environments, telecommunications/telephone services and IT security. The technology platform envisioned will customer and data centric with the ability for deep rich customer interactions that will allow for continual evolution of the site based on Web 2.0 concepts.
In addition to demonstrating strong operational leadership within the IT department, the CTO must be adept at selecting and managing strategic technology and outsourcing partners. The CTO will provide technology vision and leadership for formulating, evaluating, and implementing information technology and establishing and managing to a set timetable for the deployment of applications and technologies within the company. Areas of particular focus will be on building highly scaleable and stable customer website and transaction applications, business intelligence and data warehousing tools, and financial control systems.
Pricelock is developing and expanding its technology infrastructure in order to provide a robust and feature-rich platform that will support the growth of current services and allow for more rapid development and deployment of new services. The CTO will take the lead as we working through the complexities of growth, while balancing internal competition for time and financial resources in the face of competing wants and needs.
Marketing SVP
The position
The SR VP SALES AND MARKETING plays a leadership role in our organization. She or he is expected to oversee marketing operations. However, the SR VP SALES AND MARKETING is expected to primarily focus on strategic initiatives that will allow us to expand into new markets, innovate more rapidly, and extend the reach of our services through new channels and new relationships. The SR VP SALES AND MARKETING also monitors activities involving communications, branding and promotion strategies, public relations, business development and the achievement of sales goals. Strong operational leadership will exist within the marketing department, allowing the SR VP SALES AND MARKETING in many instances to direct day-to-day activities through subordinates.

• Online marketing including display advertising, SEM, and SEO.
• Business-to-business direct sales to commercial fuel customers
• Business-to Business direct sales to Affinity and Oil/Gas companies.
• Communications and Public Relations.
