Ad Sales VP For LA's Local.com

Local.com (NASDAQ: LOCM) is hiring a VP of ad sales in its LA HQ. The company's stock is trading at $4.40. Local.com is ranked in the top 100 in U.S. website traffic according to comScore. The good news is that the stock doesn't have much room but to go up. And It might be a buyout candidate.

Reporting to the President/COO, the Vice President of Sales will lead all advertising sales efforts to achieve the group’s objectives through strategies, tactics and plans that enable Local.com Corporation to continue its aggressive growth. This executive will be responsible for driving revenue growth through the management of multiple sales channels, including large account, agency relationships and direct to merchant telesales. These sales channels will be responsible for selling multiple products and product bundles, including display advertising, lead generation, sponsorship, sponsored listings, and cost-per-click advertising. This position will focus primarily on generating new ad sales revenue and new advertiser acquisition, and then managing relationships with established accounts.
Qualifications:
• Experience leading and growing advertising sales within a high growth, online business.
• Demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding advertising sales targets on a consistent basis.
• Excellent track record of identifying, packaging and selling digital media programs across platforms and navigating market trends.
• “Hands-on” leader with excellent interpersonal skills, high energy, and proven ability to translate clients’ needs into concrete media solutions.
• Proven success operating within and managing a multi-channel selling environment that spans the range from large accounts to telesales.
• Strong sales process management knowledge.
• Strong sales management experience including hiring, defining and managing compensation, motivating individuals and teams, and optimizing performance.
• Experience in preparing and presenting complex client proposals, managing the sales process and negotiating contracts.
• At least ten years of extensive team-building, sales leadership experience with media, Internet and/or e-commerce companies and a thorough understanding of on-line advertising and on-line advertising networks.
• Must be able to think creatively and strategically to help establish the sales channels and strategies and translate these strategies into executable plans that can build a platform for near and long-term revenue growth for Local.com. Experience building the sales function from the ground up is strongly preferred.
• Established relationships across advertising industry (advertisers and agencies).
• Solid lead-generation experience. Should be able to draw on experience sourcing leads directly and using third party resources to source leads for sales.
• Proven ability to prospect and develop new accounts
• Knowledge and understanding of online marketing strategies such as the economics of CPM, CPC and CPA offers, post-transaction tracking.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Must have the passion, energy and commitment to succeed by working hard and having fun in a dynamic, fast-paced environment (previous start-up experience a plus).
• Experience in online IYP or online search ad sales a plus.
