The bluepulse team consists of people with extraordinary backgrounds; including staff previously at Amazon and Yahoo. Additionally, the company has just closed its Series A round with Vantage Point Venture Partners, one of the largest venture capital firms in the world and an early investor in MySpace. Leasing the recently vacated office of YouTube, Bluepulse is located in downtown San Mateo just walking distance from Caltrain, shops, and restaurants.

Bluepulse is in search of an experienced VP of Engineering who can manage the technical projects and team while envisioning what the engineering team for a social media company will look like in 6, 12 and 18 months when the company is delivering billions of mobile pages per month.

Key Responsibilities
• Working closely with & reporting to the founder/CEO, to deliver on the engineering requirements for the business and product strategies
• Managing all aspects of short and long-term engineering projects
• Hiring and managing the engineering team
• Helping to reach business goals by managing the product growth with:
o On time product releases
o Scalability and stability upgrades
• Technical budgets & reporting

Requirements
• Prior experience as a VP of Engineering for a consumer internet business
• A technical B.S. or higher degree
• Ability to attract exceptional engineering talent via a fertile professional network
• Understands the business and how it relates to the technical objectives
• Ready to hit the ground running at a very fast-paced and ambitious start- up
• A mix of the following would be helpful: experience with scaling and stabilizing massively hosted internet services, mobile technology, and/or previous start-up roles
• Experience working with any of the following technologies is a plus: Linux Debian, Apache, C++, Java, XHTML, WML
