Well Funded Classified Ads Biz Oodle Seeks VP Biz Dev
The classified ads business is very competitive. Oodle competes with Vast, Trulia, Propsmart, Jobster, Simly Hired, Backpage, Edgeio, Yahoo Classifieds, Google Base, Windows Live Expo, Indeed, Rent.com, Cars.com, Apartments.com and many more. But Oodle recently raised $11M from Greylock, Redpoint and JAFCO and now has money to hire VP for BD.

Oodle is looking for a seasoned business development exec who can build and manage Oodle’s partner network -- a collection of local media and Internet sites that use Oodle to power their online classifieds. The Oodle Network includes major newspapers such as the Washington Post and San Diego Union Tribune; business directory providers such as Local.com and Yell.com; television broadcast such as WTKR (Norfolk) and KLAS (Las Vegas); and large Internet sites such as Lycos.
More specifically, this position will:
> Refine and executive the company’s partnering strategy
> Seek out and negotiate large partnerships
> Work with existing partners to drive mutually productive relationships
Oodle is the leading search engine for local classifieds. We’re a young, energetic startup, located in downtown San Mateo, led by ex-Excite and eBay execs. Many of us have been in several startups and love building online consumer products. We are well funded by Greylock, Redpoint and JAFCO.
Requirements:
> 10 years of business development experience in a consumer internet company.
> Experience successfully negotiating online distribution deals.
> Demonstrated ability to grow major account relationships
> Knowledge and personal connections in media or classifieds industry would be very helpful
