DCM-Doll Capital Management is seeking a Research Associate to support the investment activities of DCM in Asia. This position is a 2-year opportunity based in Beijing, China, and not a career/partner track position.
Responsibilities:
1. Research - Perform primary and secondary research; evaluating industries in firm's investment focus areas to define key sectors, current investment/competitive landscape and potential market/investment opportunities in sectors.
2. Financial Modeling & Analysis - Calling customers/analysts and using existing research and available market information to perform extensive analysis. Sophisticated financial modeling and tracking of comparable public/private company data.
3. Due Diligence - Perform extensive due diligence to evaluate new investment opportunities / business plans. These activities include: Thorough evaluation of entrepreneurs and management teams (interview, reference and background checking); Customer calls; Supplier calls; Technology evaluation; Evaluation of financial projections; Financial modeling and returns analyses; Deal structuring and analysis.
4. Portfolio Company Research Support - Overall monitoring of portfolio companies progress. Aid in the development of portfolio companies, particularly in the areas of market intelligence, strategy, capital structure and financing, and financial projections.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
* 2-5+ years experience in investment banking, private equity or consulting. Ideal candidate has completed a two-year analyst program in investment banking or consulting.
* Strong analytical (number cruncher) and communication skills.
* Enthusiastic and hardworking with a passion for learning.
* Native Chinese (Mandarin essential) necessary for extensive documentation review and development.
* English language proficiency (verbal and written) necessary for effective internal and external business communication.
Education Requirements:
* Undergraduate degree in technology field (prefer EE/CS) or Economics/Finance from Beijing University or Tsinghua University preferred. Will consider native P.R.C. candidates educated at top tier Ivy League universities.

About DCM:
DCM has $1.6B under management and invests primarily in early-stage domestic companies, though we do invest selectively in late-stage and international companies. Typically we are the lead investor, but we will syndicate, co-lead or co-invest based on a company's needs. DCM has made investments as small as $500K in very early stage companies, but our usual initial investment is $3 to $7 million, with an equal amount reserved for future rounds. Our total investment in any one company is generally up to $15 million.
