The company's ideal candidate is a senior manager in a credit bureau's operation group or holds a similar position in the client services group of a major financial institution.

We are looking for a superstar COO. Our company is cash-flow positive, has the market leadership position in an exploding industry and is financed by Bessemer. We are growing at the rate of 25% per month and are at a run rate this month of $18mm. We will be at $100mm by the end of the year.

You must have a reputation of unquestioned integrity in a culture that values people above all else, whether they are customers, employees, vendors, investors or contractors. We want every person who ever works with us to be delighted by the experience.

You must have deep and proven experience building scalable teams and systems that are consumer-facing. Experience in large sales organizations is nice, but experience in large client service environments is more interesting to us.

We believe in leading balanced lives. If you are working 80 hours a week, something is wrong. Our culture encourages time with family, outside interests, continuing education and community service. Even though we are a hypergrowth startup, no one sleeps at the office. We're here for the long haul.

We are located in the Phoenix metro area. You must live, or be willing to live, here.

You will report directly to the CEO and have very high visibility with our Board. This position is vital to the company's success. You will be paid very, very well if you execute to our standards, which are nothing short of excellence in all areas.

Tacoda has been ramping up with a lot of new faces and seems to need one last VP, for now. Tacoda and they had great publishers to back it up. It has deals with more than 4,000 Web sites reaching more than 118M unique visitors per month (ComScore, October 2006). Major media partners include The New York Times, NBC Universal, Hoovers, HGTV, Food Network, Cars.com and Tribune Interactive.

Still the company always seemed a bit lite in terms of management bench and marketing. It has really made in-roads in the past year to change that. Last summer it brought on Curt Viebranz as CEO, moving founder Dave Taylor to Chairman. Since then the company has been on a hiring tear. Viebranz was President of HBO International and Time Multimedia.

Now Tacoda raised $7M in Series D funding. Return backers include Rho Ventures, Masthead Venture Partners, Hanseatic Americas and Union Square Ventures.

The company has strong competition from Blue Lithium and Tribal Fusion and of course Google but that doesn't seem to have hampered growth much.

Send your resume with a cover letter and salary requirements to resumes@tacoda.com with the job title in the subject line.

wallop.png

With technology that was spun of of Microsoft, pre-launch Wallop is building social networking stuff and needs a VP of Engineering.

Wallop's 38-year old CEO Karl Jacob was CEO of anti-spam startup Cloudmark. He also led Keen, a personal advice community that raised more than $100M from Benchmark Capital, Vulcan Ventures, and Merrill Lynch.

- Although MSFT has long been derided for its lousy Interfaces, Wallop has turned to UI craftsmen Frog Design for this one.

- Along with MSFT, Bay Partners is an investor.

- Jacob's complaint with social networking sites like MySpace is that they become impersonal because they are built around the idea of simply gaining more friends. Wallop has built algorithms that watch personal interactions and then creates a network automatically.

- Wallop does not plan to make money through online advertising, but does not say how it will make money.
