Consumer Internet Startup – Seeking Founding/Lead Engineer, VP, or CTO (depending on experience, rock star status)
We are a stealth San Francisco-based Internet startup focused on knowledge sharing that recently completed our seed round of funding. We are backed by a leading group of technology and finance executives and are moving at LIGHTNING SPEED. WE WANT YOU.
You’re a very hands-on senior software engineer or architect, VP of Engineering, CTO, or simply a rock star developer with big aspirations who can code AND also build an engineering team.
You have lots of experience developing and launching consumer Internet products (social networking, user generated content, search, online classifieds, online commerce or auctions, and the like).
Maybe things at your current job move too slowly. Maybe you like working on big audacious ideas (this is NOT a widget or application, but a giant platform we are building). Maybe you a sick of your commute to the Valley and are looking for a position in San Francisco. Required Experience:
Strength in back-end with some front-end skills: Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, ColdFusion, Perl, HTML (strong layout skills, knowledge of version differences), XHTML, CSS, XML, XSL, XPath, JavaScript, Ajax
Experience or interest in Agile software development practices and principles (e.g. TDD, Pair Programming, Refactoring, Continuous Integration…)
Must have experience with developing advanced web applications
Video streaming experience a MUST
Flash & ActionScript knowledge advantageous
Ruby on Rails knowledge advantageous
Understanding & real world experience of Object Oriented design and a clear understanding and experience using Design Patterns
Experience developing content management systems
Understanding of issues related to scalability, if not direct experience with scaling network applications (load balancing, clustering, etc.)
Ability to work independently, take initiative and contribute new ideas required in a diverse, fast-paced, team environment.
Organization and analytic skills, with problem solving ability
Excellent communications and written skills
College degree in computer-related field or equivalent experience
Track record of developing and launching scalable Internet products
Experience managing large, multi-phased internet projects
Experience working with third party or remote developers
Experience deploying large data-driven commercial web sites (ad serving, data feeds, video streaming)
Experience in online community building and consumer interaction.
