First Ad Sales Exec For VC-backed Travel Startup cFares

Guy Kawasaki's Garage Ventures has put some money into Redwood Shores cFares. The company offers both a free and paid travel search results program. The site doesn't look like much, but they are just getting out of the starting gates. Travel ad market is hot with limited inventory but it doesn't look like cFares has much traffic to sell at this point.

cFares, a rapidly growing next-generation travel service with a unique travel search technology and value proposition, seeks an exceptional Internet Advertising Sales executive who will work closely with the President and the VP of Marketing to launch a comprehensive Ad Sales program in the Travel space.
We have an immediate opening for our first advertising sales executive who can hit the ground running – hard! We are looking for an individual with the experience and motivation required to establish a thriving advertising revenue base for the company. There is no advertising program currently in place, so the individual will have unlimited room to pursue and close the best advertising deals. The position offers unlimited commission potential, as well as exciting growth and management opportunities down the road.
Key Responsibilities
• Define and structure company Ad Sales model
• Develop new advertising market segments and leads
• Sell into prospective advertisers
• Prepare media kit, proposals, and presentations
• Close advertising deals
• Work with Design and Development to ensure Ad placements on site
• Track Ad inventory and report on status to advertising clients, and company management

Key Qualifications
• Internet / online advertising sales experience required
• Account management and new business development experience required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
• Experience with Travel industry preferred
• Prior relationships with Travel advertisers preferred
Education & Experience Required:
• 5-7 years of Ad Sales experience.
• Bachelors degree required
• Internet and Travel experience preferred.
