Reports to President and Chief Executive Officer
Responsibilities include establishing, developing and implementing sales programs, building a sales team, selling the company's services to clients, developing and sustaining satisfied client relationships, ensuring excellent customer service, developing and achieving revenue goals. More specifically, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

Revenue Generation

Develop sales plans and revenue forecasts and targets.
Implementing and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
Prepare necessary plans and budgets, including personnel, capital expenditures, and operating costs.
Monitor budgets to ensure that expenditures remain within parameters, taking appropriate steps as necessary.
Sales Strategy
Identify and analyze key accounts.
Develop and maintain marketing intelligence and an understanding of market trends, client business needs, and industry reactions to the company's initiatives.
Develop and implement key account strategies.
Advise and assist in the negotiation of rates, contracts, and development of special arrangements.
Develop personal relationships with key clients, ensuring they are informed about problem solutions offered by the company.
Develop strategies for penetrating new markets.
Management and Team Building
Build and manage a sales team, adding qualified team members as necessary.
Oversee recruiting, hiring, training, motivation and evaluation of staff taking reward and disciplinary actions as required.
Develop sales goals, program incentives and account management strategies.
Ensure that all sales goals are achieved or exceeded.
Internal Interaction
As a member of senior management, work with the management team to guide the company towards success and profit.
Be the eyes and ears of the company in the marketplace, providing management with feedback and recommendations on course corrections.
Support the finance department in client invoicing, account information, credit and payment related activities.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with Marketing, Operations and Technology departments.

Qualifications
& Skills At least 10-12 years of advertising sales experience, including a minimum of 5 years managing sales teams and developing key strategic accounts.
Candidates should have a diversified media sales background with experience across and an understanding of multiple media (i.e. not just one dimensional). Ideally, experience coming from a large ad supported Internet Company.
Candidates must have very strong sales process and consultative sales skills – listens, understands and acts accordingly.
Bachelors degree is required.
A combination of large and small company experience is preferred; prior experience at a start-up company is highly desirable.
Consistent success at meeting or exceeding ambitious revenue targets.
Prior experience in developing and implementing strategic decisions and innovations.
Experience in selling technology based solutions.
Prior sales management and team building success.
Experience analyzing market data to provide industry insights.
Established senior level contacts within media agencies and clients; very deep rolodex into all major media agencies and large national advertisers.
Strong understanding of Web 2.0 and social networking.
Strong value system.
An understanding of the big picture combined with an ability to close.
Business and analytical skills to oversee financial and administrative areas including sales administration, financial reporting, planning and budgeting, sales support, etc.
Strong organizational and management skills with the ability to make decisions in a rapidly changing, competitive environment.
Bottom line orientation.
An understanding that selling represents solving problems.
A genuine roll-up-your-sleeves attitude about work.
Ability to evangelize the industry and the company; passionate high energy personality.
