VC-backed/stealth/enterprise software/Palo Alto Co. Hiring VP Sales
This one looks to be an enterprise email and messaging application start-up. It's very early stage - your job would be to bring on a 2nd round of beta testers.

Are you an experienced VP of Sales with the appetite and abilities to succeed in an ambitious early-stage, venture-funded startup? This company has big plans to change the way we all work by merging technologies from the worlds of multiplayer games and enterprise software. No kidding.
Incubated by a major Silicon Valley VC firm and located in Palo Alto, this company has matured from broad thesis based on strong customer encouragement to one ready for beta testing with Fortune 50 customers that are eager to get their hands on the product. We have an experienced CEO, a small local team, a great offshore development partner, famous business and media academic advisors and a passion to build a great company. If we get it right, our product could touch millions of desktops sometime soon.
Your job is to work with us to define the sales process, bring in a second round of beta customers – and then grow sales while building a sales organization.
We are looking for someone who has done it before and is ready to dive in again. Our VP of Sales will have run a highly successful sales organization for a complex software product serving the needs of enterprise customers. You must be comfortable defining the sales process and working with marketing to create the materials needed for success in an early-stage company. You must have the intellectual capacity and interest to work with prospects on a consultative basis. You should be a great recruiter and manager as well as have sales skills yourself. Experience with enterprise email and messaging applications would be a big plus.
Required
Energy, passion, creativity, people and communication skills, organized and, of course, really smart
More than 5 years experience in sales and sales management in enterprise software
Baccalaureate degree or higher (MBA preferred)
Some prior strategy consulting experience preferred
