We profiled Picateers over on the a:c They are Shutterfly for the school fund raiser set. They just got an unknown amount of funding. In this potion, you would report to the VP of Engineering, Rick Goell, who was a director of engineering at Oracle.

Summary

Are you a hands on Web Architect, who loves to code and set technical direction to an experienced development team? Do you thrive in a small, fast, and fun team? Do you love developing cool web sites utilizing the latest in web technology? Does your hard work deserve significant equity? If so, this is the place for you.

If you have what it takes, you will be the chief architect and lead developer for our web site. You will be responsible for all layers of our stack, from AJAX-based web pages, through efficient database design.

Picateers is an early stage, pre-IPO start-up. We are turning the $6 billion school photo business on its head with a secret weapon. We are developing the best web site that marries photo sharing and photo products with school fund raising. We are well funded by Norwest Venture Partners, one of Silicon Valley's leading venture capital firms, along with Hollywood and Silicon Valley executives.

You will be working with successful leaders from e-Groups (Yahoo), Webvan, Intuit, and Oracle.

Qualifications:
· 5 - 10 years experience creating commercial web applications.
· 2 - 5 year as a team lead or architect
· Experience with the following technologies: Tomcat, Struts, JSP, MySQL, AJAX
· Familiar with Linux
· A BS degree in CS or related degree
· Understanding of Object-oriented analysis, design and programming.
· Strong self motivation
· Enjoys working in a team environment

Preferred Skills
· Experience with Rich Internet Applications utilizing open source frameworks
· Experience with Imaging libraries
· Experience with XML and XSLT transformations.
· Experience with version control systems like CVS and IDEs like Eclipse.
· Experience at fast-paced Internet companies.
