Founded in 2004, IMT Labs makes IM entertainment and its first virtual character “Spleak” is used by more than 1.5M people every month, so they say. The company is looking to hire a Business Development Manager for its San Francisco office. IMT Labs has $4M in VC backing.
What is Spleak? Well she is a 21 year-old virtual girl who offers a wide range of entertainment for teens. She is available to play games, share stories and interactive content, or chat on MSN Messenger, (buddy name: spleak@hotmail.com) or AIM (screenname: Spleak) and is also available on ther web messenger platforms like Meebo and eBuddy.
"The Business Development Manager will be responsible for prospecting and closing partnerships with content providers and advertising partners."
The start-ups founders are: Morten Lund says he has founded or invested in more than 30 tech start-ups including Skype, anti-virus consumer brand Bullguard, Scandinavian web agency NeoIdeo (sold to Leo Burnett), Chinese browser Maxthon (47M downloads).

Key responsibilities for the Business Development Manager include:
• Execute against a pipeline of key potential content partners (sources of games, competitions, TV listings, sports scores, movie reviews, song lyrics, etc...)
• Prospect and close deals with other potential sources of content, distribution and monetization (leading user community websites, CPA partners, etc)
• Lead an internal effort to develop new potential revenue models
• Lead occasional marketing initiatives on an as needed basis
• It’s a small company – so other things will come up
Qualifications for the Business Development Manager:
• Friendly, enthusiastic person who is passionate and likes to sell
• Smart decision-maker who is comfortable acting in a less structured environment
• Strong familiarity with IM, blogs, and the Internet generally
• College degree and 3-5 years experience in business development, sales, consulting, or banking
• Solid understanding of Excel and PowerPoint required
• Experience negotiating deal terms a plus
