Reno Alt Energy Start-up Needs Mktng VP

Reno is a dump but it is nice and close to the slopes if you are into that. The un-named alt energy start-up says you must be open to relocating there a few months down the road. But at first, you'll be able to work virtually and commute to make sure you agree it's a fit.

The company claims a "patented alternative wind energy product that is far less expensive and takes up much less space than traditional propeller wind energy equipment. With low-cost construction, safe design and clean lines, it is ideal for the private residential market as well as commercial enterprises, perfectly supplementing or replacing solar energy by harnessing the power of wind."

They're looking for a spring 2007 launch, and so are ready to add a marketing professional to the team as soon as possible.

As VP Marketing, your role will be to work on branding and pricing, to understand the home owner and consumers of energy products, to set the tone for relationships with VARs, and to make sure that initial sales are being focused on the right referenceable customer base. You'll handle product marketing, and will work closely with the founder who oversees the sales function.

We're looking for someone who has worked at a senior level in marketing a product to consumers as well as marketing for the distribution side, ideally with a product that is a mix of consumer and industrial. You understand every aspect of marketing, from collateral to strategy. You are a solid, roll-up-your-sleeves contributor with a passion for getting a revolutionary idea off the ground in the best strategic way possible, and you never let ego get in the way of getting things done.
