Angel Funded Palo Alto Founder Seeks Software Architect As Employee #2 For Stealth eCommerce Deal
This un-named stealth-mode company needs help to launch an enterprise-class, Java/J2EE, web-based marketplace. They promise full-time salaried position with stock and benefits.

DUTIES:
• Analyze, design, implement and test highly scalable, multi-tier, distributed software applications focused on a novel web-based marketplace.
• Design an architecture capable of sustaining a transaction rate seen by only the largest web sites. Due to the web-based nature of the product, these will include a large percentage of long running transactions.
• Be responsible for choosing and using best of breed technology to implement a clean website that makes complex work flow clear and simple.
• Be responsible for the software life cycle process.
• Design and implement business logic / middle tier, data model, persistence layer, and server-side code.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• BS degree in CS or equivalent work experience
• 6+ years Java experience
• Knowledge of requirements analysis, design, coding and unit testing of scalable, distributed, fault tolerant applications
• Expertise required in object-oriented design methodology and application development in Java and J2EE
• Working knowledge of JDBC, JNDI, JMS, JMX, JTA, HTML, and XML
• Strong communication and organization skills, and be a self-starter
• Serious object-oriented programming abilities in Java
• The ability to design, code, debug and test multi-tier distributed software applications
• Hands-on experience with web based UI, and have some insight into how to solve the kinds of problems that come from trying to move large numbers of transactions
• The wherewithal to investigate new technologies and technical hurdles independently, and be able to clearly communicate your recommendations and solutions
• Be flexible enough to work on an agile development team and contribute meaningfully to its structure
• Play well with others
• Experience with Spring, Wicket, JSF, Hibernate, JDO, or Maven appreciated
