Mixxer is a Indiana-founded company that did ringtones well enought that a highly successful investor, John Deerborn, pulled together a $20M investment. Re-launched as Mixxer, the company has ambitions greater than ringtones, it wants to be a music focussed social network.

Our goals for the near term include major improvements to our website and backend services, so candidates are expected to hit the ground running with experience in multi-tiered applications. Candidates should be fluent in Java or C++, and knowledge of PHP is a plus. The ideal candidate will possess all those skills, plus experience with performance and availability optimization, and hardware architecture management.


As a Software Development Engineer, you will work independently and with other software engineers, program managers, and designers to create, develop and deploy applications, front-end API's and middle-tier services. You will work in a heterogeneous environment of languages and technologies where the flexibility and ability to deliver solid solutions are paramount.

Required:
- 1 -5 years of industry experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Strong coding skills in either C++, Java on a Unix/Linux platform
- Experience with code repository tools (Subversion, Perforce, CVS)
- Familiarity with software deployment process
- Full Software Development Life Cycle experience
- Excellent communication skills

Desired:
- Extreme Programming / Agile Programming experience
- Relational database experience
