Code For Seattle's Geochaching Game Engine Groundspeak

Seattle's Groundspeak needs a Senior C/C++ Developer for its GPS game engine. We are familar with geochaching but didn't know about Groundspeak. Groundspeak was started in 2000 to manage Geocaching.com, the global headquarters for the "sport" of geocaching. Geocaching was the first activity to combine Global Positioning System technology and the Internet for real-world treasure hunting.

Responsibilities

• Planning, architecting and coding of Game Engine platform
• Porting code between platforms
• Work with other team members to integrate engine code
• Provide time estimates of tasks

Required Skills

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of software development experience, focusing on the Microsoft platform and technologies using C/C++
• Game Industry Experience
• Success at completing development projects with responsibilities in all phases of development
• Proven track record successfully using object-oriented design and development methodologies to deliver high quality, efficient and in-production systems.
• Extensive C/C++ coding experience
• Multiple mobile platform development experience including Pocket PC's, Mobile Phones
• Data storage and retrieval coding and design
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical staff
• Games engine architect experience

Preferred Skills

• GPS use and programming experience
• C# and Microsoft .NET platform development
• Exposure to Java and Brew
• Game UI design
• Porting code between platforms
• Passion for Video Games
