Gecko Audio is a pre-launch audio networking company based in Sydney Australia that recently raised $3M in VC based on the strength of its demos. Its systems will be used for homes and autos.

Our aim at Gecko is to develop the world's best audio technology and we need exceptional people to achieve this aim. Currently we are looking for individuals with the following skills:
Software Engineering: We are currently looking for world class software engineers. The essential technical requirements are exceptional, demonstrated expertise in C/C++ and outstanding object oriented design skills. The term "demonstrated" means that you have developed software in a professional environment or you have developed very complex software as a hobby. The number of years of experience is not important as long as you have the confidence to tell us how good you are and you are able to back your claims with evidence.
In addition to the above you must be able to demonstrate expertise in the following:
low level and high level networking protocols (including UPnP)
digital signal processing for audio applications
graphical user interface design and implementation
embedded software architecture analysis and design
embedded software documentation
software project management
familiarity with UML, Linux (ideally embedded)
knowledge of Windows XP development is a bonus but not necessary
knowledge of Python is a bonus but not necessary
Electronic Engineering: The applicant must be able to demonstrate a proven track record in the following areas:
microcontroller based networking systems for both the consumer and automotive markets (802.3, 802.11, MOST, CAN)
design of high performance mixed signal electronics and PCBs for mass market audio and/or video applications (including design of at least one mass market product)
high performance audio systems
team orientated approach to their work that is in line with common quality procedures such as ISO9001
extensive experience in Protel or PADS Layout 100/DxDesigner
solid grasp of all EMC standards and international product safety standards
Beneficial knowledge: switch mode power supplies (up to 500W), high power amplifiers, CPLD design, manufacturing experience.
Firmware Engineering: The applicant must be able to demonstrate a proven track record in the following areas:
PCI32 and PCI64 interface design
implementation of complex audio processing DSP algorithms distributed over multiple processor cores (PPC and microblaze)
implementation of optimized reconfigurable filter architectures for audio and video applications
implementation of (Gigabit) Ethernet MACs
intimate familiarity with the Xilinx Spartan family
