Suspicious Hawaiian Start-up Needs CTO - Book-em Dan-O
We had a really lousy run-in with a Hawaiian tech start-up back in the day -- you don't want to know. So this search for a "brilliant CTO" by a stealth-mode, well funded Hawaiian start-up freaks us out. The start-up describes itself in these vague terms: "innovative service enables cross platform media delivery and management in a way that fits seamless [sic] with each user’s lifestyle." This company may be legit, but if the principals had anything to do with WorldPoint Interactive and have any connection to the Swiss financier Massimo Fuchs or the plastic surgeon Dr. Bob, we recommend you run for you life.

Required:
- 10+ years of systems-level Unix/Linux development experience
- Proven track record of strong coding and individual technical accomplishments
- Background in building highly successful online media companies
- Experience developing and deploying commercial web platforms with a large user base
- Extensive understanding of mobile technologies
- Extensive understanding of video compression technologies
- Extensive experience with distributed systems
- Extensive experience programming in python, C/C++, with strong OO skills
- Comprehensive understanding of the Django platform
- Extensive experience developing multi-threaded applications
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols and database design principles
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent
- Must be a self starter who is capable of both leading and working with a team
