Mobile/Internet: Vice President, Engineering (mountain view)
Zozomo (www.zozomo.com) is a mobile software start-up company still in stealth mode. We are looking for vice president of engineering.
Job Requirements
- Define and execute the architecture for new consumer service requiring both web and WAP access.
- Assess build/buy criteria to launch trial service.
- Ensure ability to measure subscriber behavior during trial.
- Define and create critical product elements for full service launch.
- Continue to assess and add functionality to product based on subscriber activity and new product requirements.
- Build an engineering team with a combination of in house and vendor support.
Skills
- Must be able to creatively problem solve with tight resource and time constraints.
- Ability to hire, manage and motivate a team of engineers.
- Experience building complex consumer websites; proven ability to adapt and grow a consumer site based on both user and business requirements.
- Experience with WAP sites, mobile content and youth-oriented, and consumer software.
- Understanding of mobile phone messaging including SMS, MMS, WAP Push.
- Ability to assess outside technical resources and work with outsourcing companies
- Ability to influence non-technical decision-makers; evangelize the product and communicate the vision.
- Experience managing a department budget and performing under tight timelines
Education/Experience
- At least 10 years in a web-based consumer engineering position
- Prior director or VP engineering experience
- Prior work in a start up preferred
- BS Engineering or related field
