Reporting to the CEO, this position will manage the accounting/finance/HR functions in the company. The CFO is to provide leadership and coordination in the administrative, business planning, accounting and budgeting efforts of the company. This person must be proactive and operations-oriented; helping to drive the growth of the business while juggling multiple projects and working in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment.
Qualifications: • CPA with 2+ years of experience as a CFO in an Internet or software-related company. • Detailed understanding of current GAAP accounting and reporting rules. • Three or more years of HR leadership and management experience. • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of information systems. Specific knowledge of database, financial and accounting computer application systems to supply the most accurate financial information. • Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and be willing to “roll-up the sleeves.” • Accuracy, honesty, integrity are critical traits. • Experience in strategic planning and execution. • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations. • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections. • Excellent professional writing skills. • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings. • Must be a team player.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the preparation of financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information reports.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements, including work required to renew and maintain federal and state buying contracts, and all HR-related laws and regulations. Work effectively with in-house and external counsel.
• Manage the processing of all accounting transactions including revenue recognition, payroll, vendor payments, invoicing, purchase orders, travel and expense reports, and related reporting around control of expenses. • Manage the external audit and annual tax preparation in conjunction with external tax/audit advisors. • Responsibility for the monthly consolidation and reconciliations process including directly managing the overseas accounting manager in processing and accounting for international operations.
• Approve and coordinate changes and improvements in automated financial and management information systems for the company.
• Work on systems and processes to improve operational efficiencies and proper controls. • Negotiate deals with suppliers, landlords, business partners and work with lawyers on structuring commercial / strategic / financing deals with investors and banks.
• Ensure the company obtain and maintain the necessary licenses and insurance required to protect and grow the business.
• Serve as the Company Secretary, communicating regularly with the board members.
• Manage directly detailed equity accounts and equity accounting around stock options, common and preferred stock.
• Provide consultative support to other managers planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations. • Work on developing monthly forecast system and managing annual budget process.
• Perform sales controller duties including preparation and approval of commission schedules.
• Provide HR leadership. Responsible for developing and implementing HR strategy and deliverables. Develop HR policy, programs, and systems that ensure quality service and support in critical HR areas, including employment, compensation, benefits, performance management, employee relations, staff training and organizational development.
• Manage employee recruiting, review process and accumulation of metrics for all corporate bonus and commission plans.
• Ensure records and systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.
