Photo Blogging Platform OurStory Funded To Hire
Ourstory is a Mountain View, CA start-up backed by El Dorado Ventures, Benhamou Global Ventures and Venrock. Former 3Com CEO Eric Benhamou is on the board. The company raised $6.3M last January.
Unless OurStory had a very compelling story for next steps, we would not feel compelled to take a job there. Granted the site is in beta but a richly funded company like this it has no more traffic than a good Mommie blog.

Ourstory is a Mountain View start-up backed by El Dorado Ventures and Venrock. The beta website http://www.ourstory.com/ helps people to capture and share the life story of friends and family.
OurStory is a small team of seasoned entrepreneurs, who have successfully taken a company to IPO before, looking for a Senior Software Engineer with experience developing consumer websites on a LAMP development stack. This role reports directly to the VP of Engineering.
Responsibilities include:
* Developing website and email features using PHP, HTML, Javascript, CSS and SQL
* Analyzing usage and performance to debug and improve the user experience
* Working with Product Management, Design and Marketing to help grow our audience
The ideal candidate has:
* Prior experience developing a consumer website, especially with user-submitted data
* 5 years prior employment as an engineer
* Experience working in a team environment
* Experience with source control and release management
* Experience improving code performance
* Experience working with database-driven websites
* Experience with object-oriented programming
Compensation: $100k+, medical/dental, stock options
