Comcast Spotlight Wants VP New Biz Strategy in SF

Alright, Comcast is no start-up, but this does strike us as a gig that would pay very well and it looks like Comcast would be open to applicants who haven't worked at a Fortune 500.
Comcast Spotlight, the advertising sales division of Comcast Cable, helps put the power of cable to use for local, regional and national advertisers. It is focused on moving the industry forward in advanced technologies and innovative products to reach audiences most effectively and efficiently. Headquartered in New York with offices throughout the country, Comcast Spotlight has a presence in nearly 90 markets with approximately 30 million owned and represented subscribers. Comcast Spotlight's goal is to make cable advertising easy to buy, and to enhance the value of spot cable advertising via new technologies products and services.

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated VP of New Business Strategy to help analyze, assess, and facilitate the growth and expansion of our ever evolving business. Primary Purpose:
To manage and maximize all new product revenue opportunities including but not limited to DPP and VOD. New product revenue maximization will be done through “dotted line” oversight of Division field marketing and interactive sales managers but also by integrating sales into the overall Local, Regional, and National sales structures.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
· Lead Division Field Marketing and New Product Initiatives.
· Drive new and incremental revenue, which will be budgeted and tracked separately for new products, while growing core spot revenues and share.
· Develop and implement comprehensive and sustainable business plans for all new products to achieve overall Spotlight business objectives.
· Stimulate internal support systems for new products by all departments including but not limited to: finance, technical operations, research and marketing.
· Monitor and evaluate competitive media trends and provide strategic direction to maximize our share and growth.
· Develop and implement new business models related to our emerging technologies and other opportunities as they arise. Direct oversight and revenue responsibility for sales from these products to include: Classified, VOD, web, and other interactive products.
· Provide budget guidance to the division and individual markets during the annual budget process and on an ongoing basis as the fiscal year progresses.
· Educate Interactive Sales Managers (“ISMs”) and Field Marketing (FMMs) sales teams on new products through face-to-face market presentations and one-on-one interaction.
· Develop Performance Standards for ISMs and FMMs.
· Share Best Practices for ISMs and FMMs.
· Develop top-line positioning and product-specific presentations for new products and share among ISMs and FMMs within the Division.
· Develop and share resources, particularly marketing and research materials, with ISMs and FMMs within the Division.
· Lead monthly conference calls with all ISMs and FMMs within the Division and develop a comprehensive communication plan for market leaders and other key stakeholders.
· Act as a liaison between Spotlight corporate, Strategic Alliances, NCC and field sales people including ISMs and FMMs.
· Increase team or group selling efforts by inspiring, motivating, and guiding others toward goal achievement.
· Collaborate on a communication plan for the ISMs and FMMs to ensure that overall goals for the accounts are met.
· Troubleshoot problems with new products in the field on behalf of Spotlight corporate and implement solutions in a timely fashion.
· Participate in relevant industry trade associations such as the National Board of Realtors and share information across the Division
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
EDUCATION:
· Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications or Business
EXPERIENCE:
· 5+ years of managing and directing sales teams.
· 5+ years media sales and marketing experience.
· Strong strategic planning skills
· Experience developing and successfully implementing business plans for new businesses/programs
· Strong communication, leadership and collaboration skills
· Proficient with PC and all MS Office products
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
· MBA
· Unflagging optimism and a can-do attitude that will overcome obstacles inherent in the launch of new products and initiatives
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong marketer with experience positioning, promoting and pricing new products.
· Ability to exercise initiative, problem-solve and make informed decisions
· Willingness to take initiative and propose solutions to business problems
· Ability to travel
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously to meet critical deadlines
· Ability to quickly develop strong affiliate and internal working relationships
